Today was the big, hastily arranged protest in front of the Danish Embassy in Washington, DC. Here is a photoblog of the event:

Not wanting to drive to DC, I took the Metro from Vienna to Woodley Park/Zoo



This is what the Metro station looks like, for those of you who haven't been there:



Once you get off the train, you have to read the map to see where to go:



I walked up the hill (one pudgy fellow arrived complaining "Who put the embassy at the top of the hill?") about 11:40 to see 20 people already assembled and talking to a reporter from the Investor's Business Daily.



That is him on the left.

The protesters, in opposition to your average head-chopping Islamonazi protest group were a fairly intelligent sounding bunch:



There was a very nice rock outside that is now impressed into my ass cheeks. I sat there for awhile watching the folks get warmed up.



One thing you have in the West that you do not have in Islamastan, Protest Babes!

The above seemed to be trying to herd this group of free thinkers into slogans and holding up the danishes she brought and handed out for free.

Look! The media! A lot more of them showed up as the gathering continued.



Then the star of the show arrived! Christopher Hitchens! And his big-hatted wife. Here he is seen signing a book on Orwell which he wrote the intro to, I guess. I could have brought along my collection of Hitchens' books to get signed but I didn't want to seem like a tard.



Here is our fearless leader getting hassled by "the man" (actually he was just filling out some form about the gathering). At one point, Christopher appeared to be choking on the free danish the Protest Babe gave him. Some kind of irony in that I guess if had gone down.



More protesters started arrived bringing flags and such.



Look! A non-burning Danish flag! You don't see that in the news much these days.



This is really what it was all about.



Bill Kristol showed up to show his support, I guess.



This guy is someone, but I forget who... someone help me out..

Here is Mr. Hitchens getting grilled by a blonde reporter Molly Hinneberg from Fox News. I was hanging on a dump truck at this point trying to get a better view as the crowd had swelled to around 250 people and the road was getting clogged up. "The Man" kept trying to move people, but it wasn't working. Speaking of working, there were a bunch of construction guys across the street working on some house putting up quite a racket at certain points.



Told you this crowd was smarter than your average protest group. They were even quoting Shakespeare (and Mencken, but I couldn't get a clear view of her sign).



One more shot of a clear thinking individual exercising his freedom of expression rights. This is the sort of thing you stand to lose if you kowtow to the Islamonazis every time their feelings are hurt like the 4-year olds they show every sign of being.



Don't let them win. You won't like it.
